My first 3D prints!

My first 3D prints!

Last year, when I was interning at Geodan, I had the chance to my hand at 3D printing. The department had the printer for several years, but never did much with it. Until one day, one of my colleagues needed a mount for the LEAP Motion (a hand-tracking device). LEAP sells them, but they need to be shipped from the states, which is very expensive.

So we decided to boot up the 3D printer, as LEAP provides the necessary files to print your own mount. So me and the colleague in question set out to do some maintenance and got the printer working again. The result was a brand-new mount for the LEAP Motion which is now attached to one of the HTC Vive headsets. Below is a quick time-lapse of one of the parts.
